How to Submit an Offer of Support

Follow our step-by-step guide

Every offer, big or small, has the potential to make a positive difference to people across Highland.

Tips to remember:

  • Be clear and specific about what you're offering, including any skills, expertise, equipment, facilities, or resources available.
  • Outline availability, location, and timescales, including whether support is a one-off contribution or an ongoing commitment.
  • Include practical details, such as collection or delivery arrangements and any conditions or limitations.
  • Use accurate tags and clear, jargon-free descriptions to help organisations understand and find your offer.
  • Provide up-to-date contact information and consider how your offer could support a range of community needs and create positive impact.

 

What to include in your Offer of Support:

Required Fields

Status: Select Available when your offer is open to new requests. If discussions are ongoing or the offer is temporarily unavailable, select In Discussion or Claimed to prevent new enquiries.

 

What resources are you providing (200 characters): Write a short sentence that details what resources/support your business is offering

 

Explain the details, limitations, and availability of your offer (6,000 characters - please type directly into the box rather than copying and pasting from another source): Please answer the following questions: 

  1. What are you offering? Describe the funding, goods, services, expertise, resources, volunteer time, or other assistance available.
  2. What, if any, limitations are there to the offer of support? Outline any restrictions such as geographical coverage, eligibility requirements, duration, quantity available, or other conditions.
  3. What type of projects are you seeking to support? Describe the types of projects, groups, or organisations that would benefit most from your offer.
  4. Have you provided similar support previously? If so, briefly describe your experience.
  5. What is the availability of your offer of support?  Include relevant timescales and deadlines

 

Optional Fields 

Upload Image: Upload one image to attract attention. This could be a picture of the resources you are offering, or your organisation logo. Make sure it's suitable for all audiences and respects privacy.

Geographic Area:  You must select the administrative area your offer of support is available in.  Please click the dropdown menu to select your area.  If your project is across multiple areas, or throughout Highland, select ‘Highland’.

Map Location: Don't forget to place a pin on the map to show your project's location. If there isn't a single location, pin the main location of your organisation.

Selecting Categories for Your Offer (Tags): At the end of your form, select relevant categories to help people find your Offer. You can choose more than one category but make sure they are relevant. Click on each category for descriptions.

1. Offer Type: Select relevant option, or all to indicate the type of support offered.

2. Offer Focus: Select one or more categories that describe your offer’s focus.

Arts & Heritage, Capital, Community hubs, Digital Connectivity, Employment, Energy Efficiency, Environmental Initiatives, Footpaths, Harbours, Healthcare, Housing & Accommodation, Local events, Mental Health, Nature Restoration, Outdoor community space, Planning & Development Phases, Playparks, Public Toilets, Revenue, Social and support services, Support for local businesses, Transport, Visitor Infrastructure, Waste Reduction, Youth Spaces and Activities

Once you have completed your offer of support form, click Publish Offer.

If there are errors on the form, it will not be saved and an error message will be displayed, e.g.:

Please check through the offer form for any errors, which will be highlighted in red. You will also find advice on how to correct the error in red text.

 

How to Withdraw an Offer of Support

Only use the following steps if you are removing an offer altogether. Do not use this option if you have fulfilled your offer.

Follow these quick steps:

  1. Sign In: Log in to your organisation’s account on BeConnected.
  2. View Proposals & Offers: Click on ‘Offers of Support’ tab at the top of the page.
  3. Offers of Support: Click on the 'My Offers Dashboard to the right of the page.
  4. Edit Offer: Click on ‘Edit' in the Actions column next to the offer you wish to withdraw.
  5. Status: Change the status of the offer to ‘Withdrawn’ and then click ‘Update Offer’ at the bottom of the page.
