What is BeSupported?
BeSupported is a digital platform which enables community groups, third sector organisations, schools and nurseries to connect with businesses to deliver meaningful, long-lasting social, economic, and environmental benefits across the Highlands.
The aim is to create a vibrant bank of requests and offers to support community projects and activities which business partners operating across Highland can support on a voluntarily basis or through their community benefit or Social Value Charter commitments.
These activities represent increased prosperity which contributes to economic growth, reduces inequality, benefits all sections of society, and helps minimise impacts on the environment through Net Zero aspirations.
BeSupported allows Community groups, charities, Highland schools, nurseries, third sector organisations, voluntary and social enterprises the opportunity to submit requests for support.
Types of support that could be considered can include but is not limited to:
- Practical support
- Skills sharing and mentoring
- Resources and equipment
- Community volunteering
- Employment and training opportunities
- Funding and sponsorship contributions
We hope BeSupported will help community groups, third sector organisations and businesses to:
- Build strong, long-term relationships through collaborative working and community benefit opportunities across Highland which will support thriving, sustainable communities
- Quickly and easily identify opportunities through a streamlined process for all parties to deliver meaningful community benefits
