Badenoch & Strathspey Area Place Plan

Badenoch and Strathspey are in the process of developing and adopting their own Area Place Plan. In the interim, the Cairngorms National Park Partnership Plan serves as the guiding strategic framework for the area.

The Cairngorms National Park Partnership Plan 2022–2027 was developed through a collaborative process involving a wide range of stakeholders to ensure it reflects the shared vision for the future of the Park. The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) led the development of the plan, working closely with public agencies, land managers, businesses, community organisations, and residents. Extensive public consultation was carried out, including surveys, workshops, and stakeholder meetings, to gather input and build consensus around the priorities for nature, people, and place. This inclusive approach ensures the plan supports sustainable development while protecting the Park’s unique natural and cultural heritage.

The key priorities identified within the Partnership Plan are:

Nature
  • Ecosystem Restoration
  • Deer & Herbivore Management
  • Biodiversity Management
People
  • Skills & Training
  • Affordable Housing
  • Community Empowerment
