Badenoch & Strathspey Area Place Plan

The Badenoch & Strathspey Area Place Plan (APP) has been developed and co-written by The Highland Council and Voluntary Action Badenoch and Strathspey (VABS) with support and involvement from Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA), the Badenoch & Strathspey Community Partnership (CP) and its membership. Most importantly the APP draws together the aspirations of the communities of Badenoch & Strathspey.

Rather than starting from scratch, the plan draws together and synthesises a wide range of existing evidence, including Community Action Plans, partner strategies, and previous engagement work across the area. It takes an “indexing” approach, consolidating priorities and aspirations already identified through extensive consultation activity undertaken by multiple organisations.

The key priorities identified within the Area Place Plan are:

People
  • Access to Healthcare
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Addressing Depopulation
  • Community Capacity and Resilience
Place
  • Environment and Climate
  • Housing
  • Infastructure and Connectivity
  • Roads and Pavements
  • Public Transport
  • Digital Connectivity
Prosperity
  • Employment and Economic Opportunities
  • Support for Local Business
  • Education and Childcare
  • Tourism and Seasonal Work
