Replace and repair broken pathway

Replace existing section of coastal pathway which leads from the Alexandra Bridge to Tain Golf Club carpark.

• 2. Why is your project important for your community? Please include details of how your project aligns with your Areas Place Plan

The project responds to a long-standing community concern regularly raised at Community Council meetings. The path is heavily used by walkers, cyclists, and dog walkers, and forms part of the wider coastal pathway across Tain Links. 

  • Community priorities identified in a March 2022 consultation by the Tain & District Development Trust.
  • It is a priority identified within:the forthcoming Local Place Plan presently being circulated in draft form.

• 3. What positive impact will your project have? Tell us about the outcomes you expect

  • Will meet CLLD Priority 1 outcomes, particularly improved access to essential community activities.

• 4. What key milestones have you achieved so far and what will your next steps be?

  • Community Engagement & Support Evidenced
  • Support was evidenced in 2022's TDDT Community Survey, June's Community Council meetjing and the Draft Local Place Plan currently out in draft form.
  • Project Plan/Feasibility/Business Case created
  • This is a single task to replace an existing path
  • Necessary Consents Obtained
  • No consents are required to undertake the work. The asset will be held on the common good account and the Common Good will insure it.
  • Quotes Obtained
  • Three quotations have been obtained and are attached.
  • Funding applications Submitted
  • We have obtained support from the Community Council (June 2026) to make an application to the Beinn Tharsuinn Fund in  advance of a CRF decision.

• 5. What is your anticipated start date/end date

On receipt of the grant decision we will be in a position to commence work. All works will be completed prior to 31st March 2027.
