To upgrade the equipment in the Bettyhill Playpark

Estimated Cost

Not yet known

1. We want to upgrade the play equipment in the park in Bettyhill as the equipment that is there is getting very tired and is nearly at it's lifespan. Working alongside Highland Council to Meet all the requirements needed for Playparks and make it an inclusive fun environment.

2. A playpark is important for the community as it is a place for children to go and interact with each other. A safe space to learn and develop. A place to exercise and enjoy the outdoors. It is a Place for parents to interact. Playparks improve social skills, mental wellbeing and decrease segregation. the Area plan place states a place that is attractive for young people and families to live and work To deliver this we need sufficient housing, suitable infrastructure and services and a quality education for our communities. Upgrading the playpark hopefully gives a new fresh place for children to come and learn and is an encouraging factor for young families to stay in the area.

3. A fresh new safe space for children to enjoy themselves, learn and build social skills. To get exercise and make new friends. A free space for all the community to use to reduce barriers and give parents an option of family outings or for groups to use. A new modern park shows investment in the community and encouragement for families to live in the area.

4. We are ready to go to child consultation to find out what is wanted for the area. Next steps will be to select play equipmen and  fundraising. Working closely with Lynn Macgilvary and the Highland council and following their playpark strategy and step by step guide.

5. Unknown at present
