Food Lochaber is a Lochaber Environmental Group Project that supports local food producers and connects them to consumers. The producers all adhere to organic and regenerative principles. The aim of the project is to support regenerative methods and make growing/ producing sustainable. The online marketplace connects small producers to customers. This project supports small holders, gardeners and crofters to help them connect to a larger customer base through shared marketing and resources. It helps community members to access locally grown food and produce that is fresh, seasonal, wholesome and has low food miles. Food Lochaber uses the Open Food Network platform to create a virtual marketplace. Pick up days take place in a central location fortnightly in Summer and every 3 weeks in winter.
