Proposal code: THC-2026-03-58

Lochaber Coastal rowing, road trailer and launching trolley.

Estimated Price

600

Lochaber Coastal Rowing is a relatively new Community Club. The group built the St Ayles skiff and it was launched in May 2024. The membership has grown to 42 members. Rowing takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings plus some Friday afternoons and some weekend trips. There are 4 rowing participants, one cox and sometimes one other passenger on every session. The skiff is stored at Kilmallie Community Hall and we launch at the Thomas Telford Marina in Corpach.

The road trailer and trolley will make an enormaous difference to the operation of the club. Currently we have one on loan from the Moidart Skiffies, this is only temporary until they have completed their own rowing skiff. The road trailer enables us to go on trips to other locations, for events, socials, and races. The launching trolley enables us to launch and land on the slipway at the Thomas Telford Marina.

The club is very accessible, running 'try a row' sessions for anyone who wants one. Membership is kept at £30 per year which is enough to cover the insuarnce and Marina fees.

We will be fundraising for a number of other items but for now we are focusing on the launching trolley and road trailer. The entire cost is £2200 and we have raised £1600 through Crowdfunding. Just £600 remains to raise!
