Phase 1 refurbishment and phase 2 activation to secure the fabric, permit "meanwhile" uses and commence income generation. Complete paying for the building. Support running and management costs whilst emergency and urgent works are carried out.
Imaginative rejuvenation of The Old High will fit with Inverness City Centre Strategy supporting: regeneration of a key historic site, economic growth and business vitality, city centre vibrancy and year round activity, cultural identity and participation, improve accessibility and connectiviity, climate-conscious re-use and sustainability, commnuity well-being, inclusion and civic pride.
Created a SCIO. Two public meetngs, promotional stalls at events, persosn to groups including community councils, HOSTGA, NTS Highlands Society of ANtquares Scotland etc. Informally briefing Councillors. Facebook and GoFundMe. Promotional/marketting strategy in preparation. "Start-up" and fabric working groups formed.
Keeping Town Manager and Conservation Offcer updated. Funding from AHF and HIE for consultancy work (see attachments). Applications in hand for follow-up from ICHT, Nationl Churchces Trust, HIE and AHF.
Entry to the Building end March, early April. Very limited group access may be possible shortly. Subject to design, permissions etc works might start in the Autumn. Phases 1 (stabilisation) and 2 (activation) likely to last a year.
